Preserving The Beauty of Leather Seats

You've invested in leather car seats for their luxurious look and feel. Preserving them means regular cleaning and periodic conditioning. Experts advise that dirt, sand and grime can scratch leather.  It can stain easily. Body oils, sweat, and sun can cause it to crack.  They can also cause the dreaded sticky seat.  How many times in the warm weather have you gotten a major ouch sitting on a hot car seat? Getting up it feels like you're peeling away from the seat, in the process transferring sweat and oil onto the leather. If you don't have the time or motivation to stay on top of seat cleaning, covering your seats is a good option. When choosing a cover there are few things to consider:
  • Do you want your seats to be covered all of the time, or do you want the option of sitting on that beautiful leather and showing it off to the world?
  • How much effort is needed to put the cover on and take it off?
  • Does comfort against your skin or durability matter more?
  • How often does the cover need to be cleaned?  Are there special cleaning instructions?
Make sure that the cover you choose does not trap moisture where it can cause mildew and mold.
With the right care, the investment you made in leather seats will pay off for years to come.
